Default Can you calculate converter slippage from dyno??

If i take the MPH and RPM readings from a dyno pull

I should be able to calculate the percent slip from this correct

How do i calculate it correctly? say i should be at 140 mph @ 6000 rpm...and it shows im doing 130 mph @ 6000, would that slippage be 140/130 or 130 divided by 140??

The rpm readings on a dyno jet are skewed by a high stall converter. For a stock converter the answer will be pretty close; for a 4000 stall with long shift extension, there will be a lot of error.

Use ATAP and log the input and output shaft speed and you'll have your answer.
