Predator & Vig 3200--'02 F-body
Anyone using a Vig 32-3600 converter on a '01-'02 F-body working w/Predator? Is it deleting TM any? Anyone also using this combo w/out a shift kit using Predator to change line pressure-shiftpoints? Results? Good or bad....Thanks. WJ.
Well, since no one else is responding... I am using a 3000 RPM Midwest stall with Predator. It has gotten rid of all of my TM. I didn't increase the line pressure, just the shift duration.
I read that increasing pressure could cause problems. I figured that reducing the time to shift would help keep the heat down from less friction.
Hope that helps

and supposedly the base tune on the Predator already adjusts the line pressure somewhat*. i'm a little fearful myself so i only have it adjusted slightly. is it the general consensus then that you can reduce the shift time to the max and not harm the tranny?
I have a vig3200 and the predator on a 99 Camaro. On my 1-2 shift time I have it set to -8.750% on the shift time and added 10% line pressure. On my 2-3 I have it at -8.500 and have the pressure at 10% also. I left the 3-4 shift normal cuz I dont normally have it to the floored that long to need it to shift fast into it. Hope that helps you out a bit.

2002blkZ: You did all the mods at the same time? 12.6 in cool, or hot weather? I've been 12.82, 109.5, 1.92 sixty w/stock converter, Nitto's and HPP3 in 50 degree weather. My best w/Predator and same mods has been 12.90, 108.1, 1.95 sixty in 70+ degrees. Getting ready to install the Vig 3200 w/no shiftkit----just Predator w/the 3.23's. I'll be using my 8.5x15 ET Drags, though. Hoping for low 12's w/some cooler weather. I run at a sea-level track in New England....WJ.
I have: '02 A4 SS, 3.23's, T/A cover & studbolt kit, boxed lca's, lca re-location brackets, rt. side airbag, '95 Camaro V6 rear springs w/heater hose on top coils--no top rubber, 275x17" Nitto's, 15x4 Convo-Pro fronts w/skinnies, LG d/s loop, LG 2&3/4" Y-pipe, Gutted cats w/02 simms, SLP dual-dual exhaust w/Flo-Tech cutout in int. pipe, ASP pulley, Donaldson 345 hp factory lid w/FTRA. 160 stat, stock heads, cam, and everything else. Vig 3200 still sitting on bdrm floor..... 2800 miles on car. WJ.
WJ, I did the Predator, muffler, and stall all within about a week of each other. The Predator and the stall came in about the same day. I had my uncle weld in the muffler 3 or 4 days later. Then I went to the track the next weekend. I ran a 12.7 at 107 with a 1.8 short time in bad weather. IIRC, the DA was around 2200. Not sure what that means exactly, but the temps were around the low 80's and pretty high humidity.
I went back to the track just last weekend and ran the 12.6 at 108 with a 1.8 60'. The weather was a little better. Around low 70's. Lower humidity. With 50 degree temps this fall, I'm hoping for a 12.5 with the same set up. The track I run at is around 500' above sea level I think.

2002: Do you have a trans cooler, or deep pan? I forgot to say that I have a TCI plus 2 qt. pan on my car as well. Will install a 19,000 gvw cooler beside my FTRA when I do the converter. Best wishes and keep me posted w/your success or your shortcomings.... WJ.
I run a Hayden super cooler. Don't remember the exact size. It's about 8" x 12". Keeps the tranny about 20 degrees cooler according to ATap.
I should have some new times this weekend. Just hope for cool dry weather.
