is it ok to leave torque convertor attached to flywheel
Hey guys i guess i took my tranny out and we left the torque converter on there and haven't taken it off but will it hurt anything i did support it with a jack.

I am amazed that you got the tranny out with converter bolted to the flywheel. You must take the converter off to properly install the converter in the tranny. The distance from the mounting surface of the tranny (where it meets the motor) to the mounting surface of the torque converter (where the bolts screw in) should be 1 1/8" when the converter is install in the tranny. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> If this measurement is not a least 1 1/8", DO NOT INSTALL TRANSMISSION!! The converter will bust the pump rotor. <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />
