M6 - A4 swap ?'s
M6 - A4 swap ?'s I am about to begin the process of a m6 to a4 swap and have a few questions. I looked threw all the stickies on what i need and still have a few questions.
What i have:
RPM stage 5 4l60-e
Stock Flex plate
yank ss4000
A4 pedals
A4 shifter and cable
a4 Center Console
A4 cross member
B&M trans cooler w/ braided lines
Misc. bolts and trans temp gauge
1. People say you can modify the m6 harness to work with the a4.What exactly has to be modified to use it.I don't mind pulling it for a a4 harness if it will work better.
2. Will any a4 harness work with my car(2000z). Or should i go with a 1999-2002 harness.
3.If i have hptuners can i re-flash my pcm to an a4 tune.
Thanks for the help. If any one has a 1999-2000 a4 harness and computer and wants to trade for a 2000 m6 harness and computer pm me.
If i am missing something post it up and any tips on doing the swap will help.Need to get it running again for summer.

Speartech makes a add on harness. Thats what I used and its simple. Kinda pricey but, gets the job done quick. and they are a sponsor here.

The website sucks. heres what John sent me.
We make a 4L60E add on harness for cars that originally had the M6. It runs $200 plus shipping. Each wire is labeled and has a PCM terminal on it. You just plug each wire in to where the label says. The other end plugs into the trans. You re-use your existing speed sensor wiring.
