A Stall... What are a few suggestions for a good stall for 380-420HP... want to keep it a DD with Strong Power when needed, but also enjoyable to for anyone....

some guy is selling a performabuilt 3800, have you ever heard of this brand? And so is it any good? It has 1,500 miles and 6 drag passes on it...............He is selling it for $300 shipped.... is that a good stall
They are a vendor on here... I am sure if you contact performabuilt, they might have it checked out for you for a small fee just to make sure its in working condition. But yea, 300 is pretty good deal.

Depends on your goals...are you going for a max effort car that you can still drive on the street, or a good dialy driver that sees little track time? I run a Yank PT4400 which many would claim isn't much of a daily driver. True, it's loose....but it pulls harder than any other converter I've owned by a long shot. I started with a Yank ST3500, upgraded to a SS4000 and unless I decide to spray the car, this PT will be my last converter. If you're wanting an all around performer, it's hard to beat the Yank SS3600 or SS4000. IMO, there's very little difference between the two as far as driveability. The differences would be most noticeable at WOT. I liked my SS4000, but I wanted all the performance I could get and for that you'd want a PT series. Yank also has a three warranty which is absolutely awesome!

i want a stall that i will barely notice on a casual daily drive.... But when some punk in a mustang pulls up and ***** off i can puch it and absolutely demolish him...lol
Do the numbers on the stall mean what rpm they will flash tooo. ss3600= punch to 3600 rpm's ??? and ss4000 = 4000 rpms???
how high of a stall would it take untill i need to upgrade the suspension on the car... I have 39000 mile now...
the cam i have is a 228 588 112.... which one will give me the most power through the band.. something around 35-3600 or 4000
I know i ask alot of stupid questions, but im only 20 and need to make every dollar count... do it right the first time... And plus i have no idea about any of these things except for what you guys tell me....

What gears are you running?? The gears have ALOT to do with helping the verter out and getting up to speed and not making it feel so "loose"....
Most A4 guys run 3:73's. I have them and run a 4K verter.
But, you can definetly tell as its pretty damn loud.

May be biased but you should get the PB stall I think looking at your post you will be pleased with it

It cost me 400 and i put it in myself,...has cut 1.5x 60'ft times with completely stock suspension and cam only. Your probably not knowledgable of the fact that your converter you'll be putting in the car will lock out and drive like stock after getting up to speed, mine was once 35mph...changed it to 45mph b/c of cam surge.....so 45mph and mine drives back like its stock.

I have the fuddle as well and it has not missed a beat. Mine is also set to lock up at 45 and for teh same reasons you mentioned. I got EFIlive now so I am hoping to tune it more and get rid of some of the surging though.
I would jump on Performabuilt's verter, it seems like a good deal and the customer service seems to be top notch. I would send it to them and let them go thru it and clean it up though.
I agree with Performabuilt seemingly like a very viable option as well.
And as for your 380-420hp goal,...remember the phrase for future reference "Dyno's are for tuning!" I've got a buddy making 450rwhp, while I make 355rwhp.....how could I be faster?! Oh no! haha...yeah its true.

Fuddle from what I have seen has a good product, he had some issues for a while but he took care of them. He may be a little slow on the customer service but come on he builds the converters too. I think its a good idea on the PerformaBuilt of course I am biased but then from my own experience people have been very happy with them

And no, I'm not a salesman for Yank, I've just always run them because they've always worked well for me. Now that he's got the three warranty, it'd be hard to pass that up. There are other manufacturers that are proven as well, namely Vigilante. You'll hear bad things about Fuddle, but if circumstances had been different when I purchased my first converter, I could just of easily ended up with one of those.
You order a 4000...your extensions will be higher than 4000. My Fuddle 4000 2.5STR shift extensions are at 5200rpm....meaning when I punch it....its instantly there and doesn't go below.
