4l80e almost done
and a lockup in overdrive. kind of like the th400 guys are doing - until a trans brake goes in :p. it weighs about 85-100 pounds more if I remember correctly. it uses 7 more horse power than a 4l60e . will get pictures out soon-

I know this take a new 1/2 ton truck for a ride witch has 5.3 and 4L60E with 3.73 rear, than take a 3/4 ton with 6.0 and 4L80E 3.73 rear and you won't believe the difference.
The 1/2 ton will kill the 3/4 ton off the line,yes there is some weight difference here but the 6.0 has more hp and torque at earlier rpms.
My 6.0 is a bone off the line and I couldn't figure out why so here is what I found out it's all in the gearing of the transmission.
The 4L60E first gear is 3.06, the 4L80E first is 2.48 so you see the 4L60E has a much greater advantage coming out of the hole to start with.
This is why chevy put the 4l60e in the silverado ss with the 6.0 to make it quicker.
