FMVB on street?

FMVB on street?
I am pondering changing out my T56, to a 4L80E, It looks as if it will be rather expensive to have it as a "full" auto(conversion harness, controllers and such) Not to mention that I would not mind being able to shift the car myself. My car is a weekend warrior/day or two a week ride to work. The car already has a spooled 9". How are the shifts on a FMVB, my only concern is chirping the tires when just normal driving around town, the spool gets my car enough attention. And how does launching at the track go with the FMVB? Do you just stall it up like a normal auto? The car sees ALOT of track time(nearly every weekend).
Also, I have the UMI TM TA/ w saftey loop, can I make this work with the 4l80E?
What are my options if I went "Full auto"? Thanks for the help!

We have several customers running the FMVB on the street andall seem very happy with it. Presure control can be hanlded by a vaccume modulator. So no the part throttle shifts do not have to be to agressive in normal driving . If you program the PCM and add the wiring harness you can even allow the PCM to control lockup for you.

Does anyone have an in car video with a FMVB? i'd like to see how it seems as far as the shifts go. Also how will the react with the spool, do you think there will be any problems? is there a life expectancy on a properly shifted FMVB? My thing now is that the T56 is going to be ALOT more expensive to keep rolling down the street/strip in the long run.

no i dont, sorry. but i'll be more than welcome to answer any questions you may have. it drives just like you were manually shifting your everyday auto transmission, only the shifts are instant. they are firm but not brutul

I was looking into forward and reverse and I really like the reverse I have. I was worried on quick shifts I could accidentally put it into neutral on my 2-3 shift if I was to bump it to hard (using a th400 but this would be the same on your 3rd - overdrive in the 4l80). Also the reverse manual valvebody just seem more natural to me. It just seems right coming out of neutral and putting it right into first with a progression to 3rd being all the way back, instead of putting it thru all the gears before finding first then bumping it back thru them. That's just my opinion tho.

I'm not to sure about it. I just had one in my th350 and also now my th400 so I just assumed they would have since they had the FMVB. It would be a good question for the sponsors which I'm sure will chime in here soon.

I talked to Rossler's this morning, they DO NOT offer a RMVB for the 80E, they do offer a trans brake though I cant remember the mans name but he spent 30 mins on the phone answering all my questions and explaining different thing, and they have great prices to boot!
