ok i have a 94 formula lt1-4l60e and the tranny fluid is burnt and just wondering if burnt tranny fluid and 20k plus miles without a transmission service would keep my tranny from going 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th easily?

 

How many miles on the tranny? Did it run low on fluid? When you say it
doesnt shift "easily", what does that mean? Has the problem come on slowly
or did it happen suddenly?

 

burnt fluid hmmmmmmmm, not good.not normal,how did it get that way? sounds like you need to investigate & find out why? good luck!

 

im going to take a look at it 2moro and idk if it has ever been rebuilt but has 166k miles on it i have had it for 20k miles now like it will shift at really high rpm and takes a minute

 

You are saying it shifts at really high rpm but does do all the gears? does your speedo work ?

 

speedo works i just have to play with it to get it to shift and stuff idk i will drop the pan 2moro and see and hope for the best.

 

well theres no metal in the pan im hoping its a selenoid because right now 1st and 3rd only work

 

Mine acts kinda funny like that it will hold the gear rather long then shift, last week when I put a 100 shot on my car it wouldnt make a 2-3 shift unless I let out, so I drove to the part store and put a B&M electronic shift controler on it and that solved the problem shifting while spraying but Im sure it just a bandaid.

 

Do you still have reverse? If so it sounds like you have suffered a band failure. Time for a new transmission. Feel free to give us a call. Vince
