Default YANK 3600, SES LITE... GOES INTO LIMP HOME MODE?

hi to all, my 2001 ss has a yank 3600 converter, all other drivetrain is stock, check sig for other mods, 3 times the car goes into limp home mode (2nd gear) when in slow moving traffic on different occasions. i'll stop the car, shut it off and restart it and it'll drive fine but the lite won't go off. the code says it's a sticking 1-2 shift solenoid, had it replced twice and the car still trips code. all other times the car drives great and ran a 12.34 @109 the same day the car tripped the code and had ses lite going down the track. what gives? will a ls1edit take care of the code issues?? please help me!!! <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />

Edit can cure this problem. It's a matter of changing the slip codes and cltuch converter lock-up points. Thunder Racing and MTI can fix this for you by mail order or you can experiment with LS1 Edit yourself.

I had those codes with my ST3500 then it started to grind when the converter was locked up. I put in a Vig converter and all the problems went away. I went through the rpogramming end of things and all it did was cost me money and the problem stayed the same.

Yeah, which one is it? I am looking at the SS3600 for my 01 Corvette and running the 18" Nitto DR on the rears all the time and running regular Nittos up front!

Good Luck

'01S/'02S have had a lot of problems with high stall converters.
Deleting the torque management seems to resolve the problem.

Arctic, Make sure all tuning issues are resolved before condemning converter. Have you done any PCM work on the car, and if so, what was used to tune? Best wishes. WJ. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

wj, no tuning at all, as you can see the car runs real well (12.34 @109). i spoke to east side performance and ken at e/s perf. said that over 350 rwtq w/373's are making the computer go nuts as far as torque mgt goes and he also said that dyno tuning, ls1edit should solve problems. gonna get it done in a few weeks. how's your car running?
