Default Trans gets hot when sitting still?

The other day i was picking my daughter up from school and when waiting in line i noticed my trans temp was getting hotter sitting there. It reached i belive 220 and stayed there but once i got moving again it lowered to normal around 180.What causes this?..i have a B&M supercooler,do i need a bigger cooler or deeper pan?

Are you running the cooler as a stand alone or through radiator, Dependng on air flow when you are setting still if running through the raditor the trans temp will rise to just above engine temp , Same situaion but slower if you have radiator bypassed if theresno force air through the cooler then the temp will steadily rise whenyou are setting still. A solution for both situations would be a fan to force air through the cooler even when the car is not in motion.

Are your fans still at stock settings? These will let
everything run up to 220+ before kicking on and a
trans cooler with no airflow is helpless. If the cooler
is located off the main stack then the fans probably
help very little, anyhow.
