Default Which auto shifter do you like?

I'm looking to see what people prefer for a built auto. I'd be running a FMVB 4L80. Please choose within poll and comment on why you like it.

Thanks

Ratchet shifters rock. Gated shifters make me feel like i'm driving a subaru or something, not as much fun

The only thing I dont like about the quicksilver is not "seeing" or "knowing" what gear you are in like with the quarter stick/pro stick. I know that once you drive the car for a while you will know by RPM's. It just seems weird to me since I've never driven a ratchet type shifter how it comes back to center each time.

Thoughts?

how do you know what gear you are in with your manual shifter? do you refer to the chart glued to the console or just have it memorized? please say you have it memorized.

I'm a 100% newb on this stuff for the auto's, how does the quicksilver operate and what are the benefits? Besides the look of course.. I'd still just leave it in D right?

Do yo happen to have a link to where you bought yours?

C'mon dave. I thought it was a legitamite question. Haha. With the 6 speed you can "feel" the gear by where abouts your hand is. At least thats how I look at it. The quicksilver always centers itself. Ya know what I mean?

Is it more of a RPM and getting used to thing with a ratchet shifter? NEver owned or driven one so I wouldn't know.

Thanks

You really need to try each one out for yourself before making a decision. Hard to do I know but its the best way to see what you like.
I prefer a positive detent shifter, I hate ratchets. Just my personal preference though.
I run a B&M Pro Stick.

I think I am going with the B&M pro stick. I like how easy the ratchet is but I just dont like how it centers itself. It makes for a clean install but I prefer the gated style of the pro stick. Once the swap occurs, I will make a thread with pics.

I had a pro stick in my S10. I loved it. Put it in the console and it all lined up perfect. Wish I still had pics of it...
