Default 460le Overhaul/upgrade

I was wondering what has to be done to beef up a 460le tranny. Its coming outof the car, and while its out I might as well beef it up. What parts/ new gears do I use. Or how much would it be to send it out and have it done over? I only need it to safley handle 500 RWHP. Any input would be appreciated

There are several things you can do BEAST SUN SHELL, UPDATED 3-4 PACK SHIFT KIT, SPRAG AND MORE, You could send your out to be built but it would likely be just as or more cost effective to just by one like from us the level 2 4l60e is normally 1740 dollars however I can do $1640 right now and then once your new trans comes I can have your old one picked up and give you another 150 back. Just something to consider this is all shipping included and a free trans cooler

If i got a level 2 tranny it would be without a converter because i have a yank ss3600 already. Wouldnt that meen it would be 1,590 dollars base price, then plus whatever discount if any and then 150 for my stock tranny housing?

No because you are unless I am mistaken and LS1 car scroll further down the page. I think your looking at the LT1 pricing base price on level 2 ls1 is 1740 then 100 discount the minus the 150 you can get back for your core

New parts would include a 4l80e.

so i read the different stages and, from my understandning, basically a level 2 460LE is basically just an overhaul of my current transmittion with a few changes to some clutch packs, and a shift kit?

Just outof curiosity how much is the 480LE

Actually it quite a bit more than that , Unless your current trans has the beast and z pack and borg warner 29 element sprag . billet super servos for 2nd and 4th . Wide 2-4 band. High energy composite frictions and more. However the 4L80E is 3200 dollars and would require relocation of torque arm and quote a few other mods to fit along with wiring and PCM changes, Weighs considerably more also but is certainly the strongest setup
