Ok i want to be able to do is put the car manually in first. Then be able to just push it and have it lock in drive and not go to neutral. Here's why. When im messing around on the street and leaving from a light I like to put in first and let the car wrap up a bit. That way people know i want to play. Also because with spin off the launch, when you feather it, you can cause a premature shift to second. So what if any are my options?

Thats interesting..what kind of trans are you running? I have a street/strip TH350 that can be shifted manually or left in drive. It will hold first and second as long as I keep it there. I can go up to nuetral too. What I do is put it into first and do a little dry hop to get thier attention. If that doesnt do it they dont want none
Ive got a 3500 convertor so I can step on the gas a little bit in drive without launching the car, which is another way to do it. Err maybe Im not following you.

Want im wanting to do is be able to shift from 1 to drive without it be able to go to neutral. Like take off from a light in first. Make some noise get there attention. then get on it and be able to go straight to drive without haveing to worry about it going to neutral.

What trans are you running? Most configurations have Nuetral above Drive...in the 60e senario...or mine stock one I had. It was 2, 3, D, N, R, P. With the setup I have now its 1, 2, D, N, R, P. With the ratchet shifter it takes 4 bumps to get it into Drive, then 2 more to get it into first.
