Stalled Auto with Street Tires
the tread gets down to hydroplane depth. GS-D3s were great for
the first 15K miles or so, but when the wear bars got close they
got a little scary on I-95 in the rain. I got some Cooper Xeons
this time, half the price of GS-D3s, down at South Tire and not
backordered.
Feel a little "greasier" in hard cornering than the Goodyears and
haven't pushed them in the wet, yet. But allegedly top notch for
wet traction, which is key rating for us swamp-dwellers.
Converter doesn't really bother things except at launch / roll romp.
It's the rubber that's key to staying right side up and pointing
forward.
I daily drive my car on Hoosier DR's and if I ever get caught in a flash thunderstorm my car comes to a dead stop
I've been through 3 sets of DR since i bought the car, I think i'm going to try street tires for a season and see how that works out. Being able to rotate my tires would be nice too.
