In any case thats amazingly fast and in defense to the mustang. What other car from the factory is there that can make that time and be 100% legal to do it? Not having to buy all the safety stuff and being kicked off the track after your first run pretty conveinant
Hell, what am i saying, I'd still buy a slower Z06 or Viper anyday then a 70k mustang

(Oct. 20) NHRA Pro Stock drag racing legend Bob Glidden will compete in the Nov. 20-23 Street Car Super Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Glidden will pilot PGA pro golfer Kenny Perry's Grand Am in the Outlaw 10.5 class.
Glidden was the scourge of the NHRA Pro Stock class in the 1980s and 1990s, winning an unprecedented 10 championships in 16 years, including five consecutive titles from 1985 to 1989. Bob amassed 85 national-event victories before retiring at the end of the 1997 season and is fourth on the NHRA's Top 50 Drivers Of All Time list.
The Strip at LVMS will draw the top racers from across the U.S. and Canada - including Bob's son, Billy Glidden - for the ultimate East-vs.-West street car shootout. The Pro Street class will pay $20,000 to the winner. The Outlaw Street class winner will take home a $5,000 check.

Billy went 11.0 @ 126mph and his dad missed 2nd gear and let out apparently. I'm wondering if Billy clicked it early or if he stayed in it.

10.80's already.
That purpose built Camaro would have to comply with all NHRA safety rules & regulations as well. It's not as simple as slapping a blower on the car. The price is a little steep, but it's pretty damned cool IMO that Ford made a factory built racecar.

Of course- the zL1 69 camaros were a 6cyl from factory, but still they didnt cost 60+ when knew.. about 4200..
the only thing that mustang is doing- is making some neat examples of cars in the past.. cool idea.. but i wouldnt bank my money on these being a collectable car.. to each his own..
For the one thinking.. new ZR1 > cobra jet.. i bet that would be a close race.. same kinda money, wonder who would win.. ??

800rwhp makes up for a few extra pounds on the nose and for a lot of
other things. That car did 190mph in the standing mile if I recall correctly. I could be mistaken on that, but
regardless...it's more car than you'd ever need on the street.
