Me too but I could also see things going a little bit the other way and the largest (factory/OEM) LSx motor being only 5.5L in size but still making 6.2L LS3 type power hopefully (Direct Injection etc.).

As long as the engine remains OHV, is bigger than competitors with more usable power, and mods are wallet and horsepower friendly...GM can do whatever they want to the SBC. I have complete faith.

I've been waiting for this news! Smart move in the right direction GM. I'm anxious to see the economy ratings of smaller displacements with this technology in a car with a six speed manual. Low 30s here we come! Throw in forced induction in the next generation of performance cars and who knows what is possible. Grand National? Smaller Vette rocket?

OHV is a very important aspect to maintain. GM has done wonders with the old, simple pushrod arrangement, I hope it stays that way. There is no need to complicate things with a multi-cam arrangement V8, Ford has already proven that this style will never be superior to a well designed OHV V8 engine.
I remember someone here recently posting a pic of a Nissan 3.5L V6 next to an LSx motor, the LSx looked so tiny and compact while the 3.5L looked like a 426 Hemi. Reduced external engine dementions are another big advantage of an OHV setup.
