What are your thoughts on the 2011 Sportage? I like that one as well.

+1 on that.

That's sort of what I thought, to me it looks like a Lexas.

I think I have lost complete faith in america. An exciting kia? Is there such a thing as an exciting wet pile of dog ****? Answer to both is no. Kia version of the sonata. I have already driven a dozen sonatas and the fit and finish is terrible! Cheap body pannels and a floor mounted gas pedal. Horrible radio and a complete knock off of a solara, the hyundai anyway. It looks good? Opinion is a wonderful thing isn't it? It is at best a sad try at a knock-off that they call a new design.

best way to describe it is its pretty much a mini sorento but better gas mileage. def overhaul over the 2010 and lower sportages. all the new kias coming out now are based off of some audi's a designer from audi is working for kia. like if you look at the new optima you can kind of see it in the curves of the body and around the headlights.

I'd like to see a couple Ford & GM engineers take a look at the Quality of this vehicle. I'd be willing to bet a grand that it's a piece of **** in terms of the quality of parts used. Don't be blinded by navigation and creature comforts. IMO, it's a wolf in sheep's clothing...or maybe it's a sheep in wolf's clothing in this case? Ah well, you get the drift.

"Still a Kia".

I used to make statements like that, until I bought one. Got a used 2005 Spectra for my dd. Well over 100k on the clock now, and it has never let me down. Interior fit and finish is as good as any car out there. Still rattle-free and squeak-free. Never had a wrench turned on it except for the oil-drain plug. Exciting...no. Likely to drive by an fbody broke down on the side of the road...definitely.

I wonder if it will actually cost 23k. But even then i think a mazdaspeed3 would be a better choice.

Fixed. Stock LS1s are just as reliable as any other car. Once modded though, you introduce several variables that can cause premature failure (too much power for supporting parts, poor installs, mis-matched parts, etc.).

I would trust my stock 97k mile '02 Z28 before a 100k mile Kia on a road trip.

In this day and age there are plenty of Domestic Automobiles that are very reliable. Many domestic vehicles score very high in the various consumer publications.

Even a slightly modded F-body can be very reliable. I recently took a 3500 mile road trip with average fuel mileage at 27mpg, sustained speeds of 80+ mph through Texas for extended periods of time.

It perplexes me the lack of patriotism when it comes to automobiles. I'll support and keep my money in the USA thankyou.

Heck my fbody has 153k on it and it runs great. Granted the engine has less because I put a used replacement in it when the original blew up from previous abuse (not by me) but OK, it still has over 120k on the engine.... Still on original trans. I'd trust it on a road trip, I do 2200+ miles a month on it as it is anyway. And I get 28mpg average doing it (32 if I did all-out highway).

An 8-9yr old car with 97k miles is nothing. A 125k mile car that is less than 3 years old speaks volumes. Just sayin.

The Accord has been the high-water mark for that class for over a decade. There is no shame in taking cues from it. But, I see more Mazda6 than Accord. It's a good looking car.

Saying what? Maybe that the 3 year old car saw pretty much nothing but expressway driving to rack up that kind of mileage? Highway miles are easy. What speaks volumes is high mileage city/heavy traffic driven older cars that have never left you stranded nor had a significant mechanical breakdown.

Just sayin.

I've averaged ~25-30k miles a year in all of my cars save one; my old '05 Frontier V6/6spd that I put 20k miles on the first 3 months I owned it. And while it was majority highway, that truck was used as a work truck in all aspects. I even took it to the dragstrip, and it ran perfect from day one. That is something I would have no hesitation buying again.

I hate to admit it but those Frontier's with the V6/6speeds are kicka55 trucks.
I've driven one and those things moveout pretty good. There are also plenty out there with 100K+ miles on them too.

I wish GM would take thier 5.3L equipped V8 Colorado and offer it with a 6speed. That would be awesome.
