Default an EXCITING new.....Kia? YES

WOW good looks, navigation, HIDs, oh and a cool 275 Turbo charged horsies under the hood!!! 6 speed manual, or auto with paddle shifting, and a great interior wrap dash design. And wait- $23k (est) new? Ill take one for my new daily driver! Kia is really headed in the right direction! the new Sportage looks just as great with the same drive train! Just needs new rims IMO.

They are coming out with some decent looking products, I just wonder about the quality and durability.

I bought a new 2006 Kia Spectra SX because i didnt want to rack up the mileage on my Trans Am(120+ miles a day!). Its been barely 30 months since i bought it (it was in 2007) and after my commute etc daily driving, yada yada, it now has almost 125,000 miles! It has NEVER had a problem, it has ALWAYS got over 36MPG, and in case you are wondering, it has the same 2.0 DOHC that this car has, and i have said since i bought it that its ready for boost. I kinda walked into buying it and i have been nothing but surprised and delighted to own this car as a daily driver! Most reliable car ive ever owned, and its no slug! Its got quite the pep! I mean it growls, and its quick! Ever since then, ive been watching KIA, and the next DD i buy WILL be a KIA. Theres a reason they are the fastest growing car company in the country and there's a reason they have 23% increase in sales while everyone Else's is declining.

Wheels are horrible, and that pinched in the middle grille they are doing to their whole line has looked alright on everything else. On this, it looks pretty bad.

Also the foglights look like an afterthought from a '99 model, especially when I thought I saw an LED strip right above them.

Other than that it seems pretty cool from one of the few import brands I like.

Ugly, i'd buy a new Regal GS long before even looking at that.

The two are completely comparable, turbo, six speed manual, etc. the Regal only looks 100x better.

I think it looks great but I also have the feeling that a lot of people are trying to apply coupe standards of style to a sedan -- people that probably hate sedans to begin with.

I also REALLY am excited about the Regal, but you're talking about a $35,000 car compared to a $23,000 car! Think about it! These days, that's a difference of a C5. I could buy this Optima, and save enough to buy a used C5 or a nice firehawk. And i refuse to buy a car from an American car company who offers their best to only the oversees crowd, and gives us base model bullshit with premium model prices. Why does Europe get a sweet *** turbo 6 cylinder and we only get the four? because we let them do things like that. Most import companies give us their best but our own companies don't. When they offer us the Regal GS (or gn or gxn) in the 6 cylinder turbo trim, with AWD and a 6spd manual, like the Europeans get, then ill buy one. Well, if i can stomach the price which im betting will be a good $15000 more than this car.

That being said, i have ALWAYS owned GM and European products, and not just me, my entire family! My current KIA has been more reliable than anything any of us have ever owned! Least reliable probably being my BMW lol!

Kia/Hyundai are not exactly what I'd call exciting. Just a lot of blatant design rip-offs more than anything. Although it does seem they are gradually finding their own design instead of just copying the current gen Honda or Toyota or whatever.

Basically. And I hear wheels are absolutely impossible to change.

What a loss...

While it's true that I'm not generally a fan of 4-door cars, there are some that I like. The 2nd gen CTS being a prime example, even your own G8 looks about 900 times better than this Kia. The GP GXPs were nice looking cars, as well as the old Bonneville GXP. I also really like the styling of the new Malibu, though I think the 3.6L should be a little closer to 275-280hp in that car.

The wheels you're thinking of were only optional on the '00 WS6 under RPO N66. They were the "swirl-styled" 3-spokes. And yes, they looked awful, IMO. Very few WS6s were produced with this wheel, thankfully.
