At least it gives the government a reason to still have ownership. Can you imagine if the IPO were in the $60 range, and the Government didn't sell all of its shares (cash out and make money on the bailout)? The low IPO gives Washington a reason for continuing to pull the strings, which I'm sure they have no objection to.

Sadly no Pontiac = nothing for me to buy, unless I happen to win the lotto and can afford a new corvette.
I still need to go backwards and collect a 1979 and a 1969 firebird anyway LOL

even gm insiders said to take the numbers with a grain of salt. of course then you have the fact that for the guberment to break even, ipo would have to be ~53 a share. FAIL.

Well GM went from a loss of $1200 per car to a profit of $3000 per car and I have my doubts that credible GM insides said much at all. And whether you are for or against, there is a lot to be said for the horrific domino effect GMs collapse would have had on the economy. Even Ford advocated GM and Chryslers existence as vital to their own future success and encouraged govt intervention to save them. I dont foresee a big rise in the stock price in the near future so on that we can agree

Instead of a logical argument or simple statement of opinion on the subject at hand, you guys come in and inject politics, sarcasm and cynicism. United you stand, in further degrading my opinion of union folk.
Just remember what I said, you guys started it. Have fun trashing another thread!

This is exactly what I wanted to see. Great response as always, such a classy guy! Good job going for the bait though!

WGAF about your opinion of unions or anything else. its just based on stereotypes and hatred like most anti union puppets.
i understand why wannabe made that statement. but i took the bait? LOL.
its because every time something comes up about the big threes failures in turns into a bunch of union blaming with a bunch of members dick sucking each other.
its a problem with me because a power hungry arrogant jerkoff of an administrator threatened to ban me when i challenged him on his anti union posts. so because of that others were afraid to go up against him. so guess what happened? a bunch of weak minded kiss asses started posting stupid **** to try to get me banned lol.
so thats why my opinion of anti union people on here is degraded as you said lol.
have a good night BRO LOL.

It's very clear inordinate labor costs perpetuated by the unions have driven manufacturing overseas to a large extent. That doesn't mean there's not another reason why GM became unprofitable.
