Cadillac ATS in action

Did the President of Cadillac, North America just make up a word in regard to refinement?
1:33-1:35, "Refineness."
I know I'm nitpicking to a huge extent, but it helps to know the right term for a quality you are trying to achieve.

1) It still sounds like he is saying refineness in the video
2) Refinedness is not a word...
If it was, it would have virtually the same meaning as the adjective meaning of refinement.
Think about it. If the present-tense "refineness" isn't a word, why would the past tense form "refinedness" be a word?

On topic, this Cadillac looks like it could be a really nice machine.
I'm looking forward to the ATS-V. It's rumored that it will have a twin turbo 3.8l, but I'm still hopeful that it will offer an LS engine at some point.
The only negative I can think of is that the CTS will grow a little bit now that Cadillac will have a car for the compact segment.
I don't quite get this though as the current CTS has roughly the exact same dimensions as the E60 5-series.
If it grows, I hope it is only to a small extent. It would be nice for them to use more aluminum in the V and bring down the weight a little.

1) Say both aloud, can you really tell the difference in how quickly it's said? I didn't think so.
2) Refinedness is a word, I hate to be the bearer of bad news. It's a noun; may not be used that often anymore.
I can provide a little "proof" as well.

Merriam Webster and other reputable sources do not recognize that it is a word.
It just isn't a word, sorry to disappoint you.
If you have a dictionary in print form, pocket or otherwise, I dare you to find the word "refinedness" in that book.
So what's more reputable:
Every dictionary in print
-http://www.webster-dictionary.org/de...on/refinedness
-http://www.thefreedictionary.com/refinedness
-http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/refinedness
-Merriam Webster
-Or the websites you listed?
Maybe it was a word at one time, because one of your sources lists their source as a Merriam Webster dated in 1913, but Webster no longer acknowledges it as a word. Perhaps it was replaced by a word that sounds better, or just replaced it over time.
Allow me to introduce the word REFINEMENT to you.
Here is the definition of refinement:
N. "The state or quality of being refined"
Wouldn't that be the same definition of the made-up word, refinedness.
I don't know personally because it's not a word and because your sources don't give a definition.
Given the root word and the usual use of "ness," I'd be willing to gamble that they mean the same thing.
Ah wait, I found a source that mentions the 1913 source that your websites use:
http://www.1828-dictionary.com/d/word/refinedness
REFI'NEDNESS, n. State of being refined
That looks awfully familiar. Oh, and they say the exact word is NOT found in the 1913 Webster dictionary.
Nail in the coffin?
Scrabble doesn't even recognize it
http://www.scrabblefinder.com/word/refinedness/
http://www.hasbro.com/scrabble/en_US/search.cfm
EDIT: It looks like it was used at some point, but died out in favor of the word refinement, which has the same definition.
I found it in one of my unabridged webster dictionaries.

How about a ATS-V with a TT V6 - and a very expensive ATS-V+....with an LS9
Why limit yourself? Make it a special edition, overprice it, whatever, but that combination would be just....awesome, cool and probably lethal...
