Wow...that is ridiculously fast!! Well done!! Looking forward to reading more about it and how many laps they did and if they smacked the rev limiter half a dozen times like last time and especially if they re-geared it.

Wow, that's deep.
This is probably the corniest thing I've read that someone wrote about a car.
Is it possible to be a harder nutswinger?
I really like the Viper, but weighing over 3400lbs and managing to have a worse interior than a C6 doesn't really make it the finest car built.
In my humble opinion, there really is no "finest car ever built." That description is just too broad.

Doesn't look the part.
It catches your attention, but is very far from beautiful.
In fact, I find it kind of ugly. I think the Viper for example looks much better than it.
Also, it weighs over two tons and costs way too much money. Somewhat overpriced really.
And yes, I do think value should be taken into consideration to some extent.
Scratch the kind of ugly part. It is quite ugly really... (JMO).
The finest car ever built in my opinion would have to be under 3500lbs, beautiful/handsome, somewhat comfortable (won't break your back), well appointed, quick, fast, quick around a track, and be priced accordingly.
The Viper fails in the somewhat comfortable, well appointed, and beautiful categories. Not the exterior, but the interior. That is what you see all the time if it is a car worth driving and it's not very pleasant to around IMO.
I'm sure few will agree with me, but the Ford GT and the 997 911 come pretty close to meeting these goals. The GT is too dated to be as quick as the others around a track though, and the 997 911 could be better looking and stand out a little more.
Oh, I know, the Aventador comes very close to meeting all of the broad goals. Though, some find the flashy appearance to be ostentatious.

I'm a viper fan but I don't think they are the perfect cars or whatever that dude said. But **** that is a fast lap time. I bet when we see the video you see a lot of wheel correction for the *** end getting out from under him lol. I bet it was a handful

Where the ZR1 takes the horsepower lead, the ACR takes the aerodynamics. Not saying the ACR isn't a badass car, but throw a little more downforce at a ZR1 and let's see what it'll do.
**** the lexus.
**** the lexus.

downforce and suspension stuff. the vid of the last lap the zr1 did showd it to be a bit wild in some turns.

Not sure if this is footage of the actual 7:12 lap or just an earlier test pass but it is from the very same sessions that week.

I daily drove my dads 05' SRT-10 for a month and it was the most uncomfortable, roughest, pain in the *** vehicle I have ever driven, but god damn did that thing move and pull so much vagina. Love that thing, just gotta convince him to buy an ACR so I can buy his for dirt cheap haha.
Not to mention filling up the tank every 2 days.

From: HOU - yeah, you know the rest.
They may not be very refined but they make for helluva sports car. 8.3 liters of brute force and aerodynamic aids make the Viper a powerhouse at the track. The video just makes me drool. Thanks for posting.
