If they put a V8 in the ATS-V, I'll try to talk my girlfriend into getting one. AWD and V8 would be amazing.

I wouldn't mind a TT V6 either though... probably more practical

The TT 3.6L V6 is definitely happening. The V8 option is unknown at this point. I have read they are testing a configuration of the ATS-V with a V8, but that may be preemptive testing for the new Camaro... We'll have to wait and see.

Personally, I'd rather see the ATS-V with the DI 6.2L V8, but I'm a V8 guy.

I feel that just like the CTS-V it will be RWD only. Just like the CTS I believe the base ATS will have an AWD option. Cant see a AWD V8 but I guess anything is possible..

On paper, yes. I worked for Mopar Parts for a while and the #1 selling parts our dealer sold were drivetrain parts for the AWD Jeep SRT8 and the AWD 5.7L LX's (Chargers/Magnums/300C). I'm not saying that GM wouldn't do it better, just that it's hard to put big power from a V8 into an AWD platform and maintain respectable MPGs and reliability.

Nothing is officially confirmed yet, but I can tell you that the TT V6 is definitely happening for sure. GM is taking a page out of BMW's book here from the success they had with the 335. Fuel efficiency is going to be a big selling point for the ATS even in the V version and there's no doubt that higher MPG's will be achieved with the TTV6 as opposed to a 6.2L V8. And from what I'm told now, ATS-V will be strictly RWD as introducing an AWD platform to the ATS-V would bring the cost above the CTS-V which they are desperately trying to avoid. The next car I get is going to be an ATS-V regardless, but an AWD offering would make me even happier for the rough winters. What an Evo/STi killer it would be too..

A twin turbo six would be awesome for the Lil caddy that way they save the v8 for the cts-v and not confuse buyers on which one to pick. Plus maybe just maybe a turbo six could find its way into the base model camaro say 350ish hp with 30mpgs that would be killer then bump the SS up to 440-450hp then do us all a favor and do something to help out the zl1:-(

I'd love to see a DI TT V6. That's where it's headed. The 335i just put down 627whp on the stock block with a single turbo, and can still net over 30mpg. As much as I love the V8 sound, that mileage and power simply cannot be beat (yet).

This. Forced induction seems to be the way to go, and I think the sky is the limit for the ATS & ATS-V if GM makes good on its claim that the car will weigh sub-3400lbs. That truly is amazing considering all the technology and safety gear that's going to be packed into this car. Hopefully Chevy takes a page out of Cadillac's book on this one and sheds some weight off the next gen Camaro..

Both cars will be built on the same platform, so you're looking at similar weight for the next Camaro.

I think sub-3400 will be highly unlikey. I4 base model should be really close to 3400.

^Good link. No mention of the V but I wonder what kind of power the turbo 4 is putting out? Id take a turbo 4 with 250+ HP, AWD, and the CUE as a DD.

The V won't be out for another year or two, thus no mentioning.

sounds like a low 14/high 13 second ride from the factory. the GS is already running mid-high 14's stock with the same engine and 250-300lbs more weight (and fwd).

Thank you. I thought I was the only one who thought that. Every one I talk to seems to like it though. Reminds me of those old DUB edition matchbox cars.

Yup, I read that too. I also read that they are still testing a V8 option, so it could be possible to have a V model with 2 engine options. That would be interesting...

(V8 testing could also be for the next gen Camaro, since they share this chassis. Only the insiders know for sure though - that's my speculation.)
