probably because of Aerodynamics and gearing. The Z06 had much worse aerodynamics than the coupe. GM has rated the C6 at less than 0.29 vs. 0.29 for the C5 coupe.

Also the C6 with the Z51 package gets a T56 with similar gearing to the M12, but it has a taller 5th than either the Z06 or non-Z51 C6. (0.71, vs 0.84 and 0.74 respectivly).

Geez some Vette owners are clueless. I'd really like to see them go race these cars "without using the clutch" to run their best ET. Funny that they do not know what the term "powershifting" means. It means KEEPING THE GAS FLOORED BETWEEN SHIFTS, but you still use the clutch.

Anyone here tried to shift a T56 quickly while drag racing, without using the clutch?

Tony you forget that those of us that Beta Tested the Centerforce Clutch back in 1998 got lots of practice shifting without a clutch!

What's wrong with powershifting without using the clutch? Are you saying there's a correlation between this and having to replace my transmission every week? Hmmm, you could be on to something.

And yes, I'm on corvetteforum (I have a C5), and a lot of those guys are braindead when it comes to actual performance. They sit their car in their garage and wax it daily, and drive it monthly.
