Maybe I'll give you a base 911 but this car competing for buyers/performance with a murci? I'm not seeing that at all. Do you have a link where someone at GM said that was their goal?

I agree that the car is badass, but 75g`s for a Chevy Z-28, am I the only one that thinks this is retarded. What a shame that the Z-28 will be out of reach of most middle class car enthusiast. You won`t see many of these running the streets...

Enticing, the price is not. The Porsche, I can almost totally see, but the Lamborghini... That doesn't make sense. Didn't they stop making that car in like 2010(2001-2010 model)? If so, I don't think GM would be doing itself any favors to tell the public they based their brand new high end Camaro around it.
Btw, I think the question was rhetorical. Maybe I'm wrong on that.
They already offer the 1LE to go against the BOSS and ZL1 against the GT500.
The Z/28 aims at the Porsche 911 Carrera S and the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. Euro super car performance was the benchmark for this project so it's on a whole different level of performance as well as engineering and modifications.

$75k??? They are stoned. I would much rather have a C7 plus mod money or a used C6Z or ZR1 or GT3 or just about anything else.
Seriously what do you net with a Z28 over a loaded C7?

You know they'll sell 'em anyway, to the few who want them as a collectable and that's pretty much all they'll ever be. At that price, we won't be seeing many of these on the streets. It's gonna be far more limited than Corvette and maybe notably more than the ZR1.
Of course, maybe they're looking ahead and thinking the next GT500 or Cobra or whatever... will be something exotic and priced similarly? At $70k already on the high end, it seems to me these pony cars have hit their value ceiling, save the very few such as the YENKO or COPO special versions.

A vastly more unique, intensely focused machine with a high degree of engineering/modification and exclusivity assuring retained or appreciating value through the years. Subjective, but I like the styling better than the C7 too.

It will be like the Mustang cobra Rs. People will over pay for an expensive car only for it to be out shined by "normal" cars performance wise a few years down the road. If you think it will appreciate you are smoking some crazy stuff. Production of the cobra Rs was very limited and they still are not worth much.

^^ I kinda agree there, but with a slightly different take. The '00 Cobra R is still worth just about sticker price and that's not terrible by any means. The '95 R is worth over 30k and again, that's not bad. The thing is, you get a car like this and you spend more time showing it and just looking it over than driving it. I see the very same thing coming for the new Z/28.

Honestly I don't know why everyone's complaining about the price.... I mean there's 2014 GT500 going for $88k in my area. IMO Z28 > GT500

$75k for a car that performs like a $150-200k European car...sounds about right to me.
LS7 Z06's were about this price new, except they've got no back seat, no carbon ceramic brakes, less developed suspension, and this is just as fast if not faster if I'm not mistaken? (around the tracks I mean).
