Yep, they are obviously not planning to completely give up on ICE any time in the near future.
EV tech and practical management, in its present state, is not even close to being the answer for every or all situations - especially in a country like the US, with such a wide range of climates, living arrangements, and transportation purposes. ICE will continue to have a place here for quite some time.

The biggest reason for a new V8 is the absolutely dismal range that EV trucks get when pulling any sort of a load. No contractor/farmer/race car hauler is going to buy an EV truck when they have about 80-100 miles of range pulling a trailer. It's absolutely ridiculous. EV trucks are for suburbanites who never load anything heavier than two bags of potting soil in the bed of their truck.
