Yes its true my great friend Joe Sherman of Joe Sherman Racing(714)542-0515 beat out 42 other engine builder competitors by making the most horse power out of a pump gas small block motor. Joe made 613 hp and 525 trqe. with a Chevy around 357 inches. The next closest contestant only made 570 hp! That is a kick *** achievement and he definitely knows his stuff.$60,000 is a nice reward too! The average power was tabulated also and his power curve was also the fattest in the contest! <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />

What type of limitations did they have as far as parts were concerned? What were the rules?

I dont get mags other than GM Hi tech, and Chevy Hi perf. but the rules are loosely, pump gas, under 358 inches(i believe) no exotic valvetrains,aftermarket heads ok but stock style must be used, for instance no SB2 heads or Robert Yates heads,1 carb. no fuel injection,tested only to 6500 rpm max. there were 3 test sites thruout the country. Some specs on this motor were AFR heads, 11 to 1 comp. Isky mid size Hydraulic Roller,Demon carb with superVictor intake, Heddman 1and 7/8" headers. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
