This may be early, but does anyone know if this is going to fit into an 01 or 02 F-body

from what ive heard, this tranny is longer than the 4L60E

Speaking of autos and F-Bodies..... what ever happened to the 700R4? During the GTA days that was "the goods" IIRC...

I doubt that Chevy would put a SMG in the Vette in the near future. They'll want to see a big demand for something like that first. The cost for such an option would be significant and they learned their lesson with the ZR-1 that Vette buyers don't want to spend too much money on something exotic.

does the car need to be paddle shifted or can it be put in a normal automatic mode?

Well considering that it's a torque converter slushbox it wouldn't make much sense to make it such that the car had to be shifted manually . The main "mode" of the transmission is for it to shift on it's own while the paddles are there for those occasional "I feel like Michael Schumacher" moments.
