thats the dumbest thing ive ever read here. the vipers apperance has been was way more original than the corvette since they came out in the early 90's. then in the late 90s the viper really picked up its look and imo is still one of the most bad *** looking cars ever made. i dont see how this looks like a corvette.

and now with the new corvette, they stole the non pop up head light design and sides from the viper. whenever i see the new vettes they always look like vipers from far away from the front or sides. and yes i am a chevy guy but just give the props to the viper where they are deserved, and stop being a loyal extremist.

I personaly dont see how there could be any complaints made on the corvette.. period. The c6 vette is a new breed of car in my opinion. I personaly dont see that the Viper could have anything over it other than price. In the end, its still a Viper tho.

Regarding the "feeling" of the Corvette, it seems like some serious nit-picking... if the car still sticks and responds, then the FEELING is just (as others have mentioned) something that takes some getting used to.

Just like older 911s... they were prone to SERIOUS, SUDDEN snap oversteer when the throttle was closed in mid-corner, yet have somehow always had the reputation of being great handling cars. Sounds to me as though they FELT fine, but would bite the driver in the *** in a hurry if he wasn't careful.

The way a car FEELS is so subjective anyhow... at the end of the day, all that matters is the performance (when talking about performance cars)... and in that (objective) area, the C6 Z06 is a hell of a car.

None for sale at $65800..I could care less what a half million or million dollar car does.. ..I'll probably never be in a position to own one unless I win the lotto..Z06 Z06 is the badest hot rod on the planet for the $$$..

The Carrera GT is the only production car to have posted a faster time. Many other cars have posted faster times, but they were prepared race cars.

 

I remember reading the article and seeing the list... But out of curiousity, were the enzo, saleen S7, and mclaren F1 on the list... No doubt that the Z06 is a screaming deal as for performace per $, but I would be suprized if it manged to show up those three cars as well...?

i have a good amount of expeirence with that, let me answer your question.

its not going to come close. The S7 and enzo ar way too race oriented. Its going to need downforce, tires and chassis work to compete. Its got the powertrain though

PS: compare bore/stroke/displacement/charactoristics of the S7 vs LS7

 

Look at the hood scoop on the New Z06.... compare that to the '03 viper... 3 years earlier....

 

Car & Driver rated the Z06 ahead of the Viper, but who cares. Both cars are animals, I would personally like to have the Z06 over the Viper because IMO the Z06 is a better total package. Pick your poison gentlemen.

Well for those of you that have not driven the new Z06 or the Viper..I can tell you that the Z06 is the better car..I have driven both of those cars on many occasions..I have not driven the Ford GT so I can't comment on that car..I put very little weight in anything that auto rags publish..they always have some kind of agenda..and their main focus is to sell the magazine ..controversy sells..agreeing with the truth does not sell..

 

I on the other hand rode in in an underpullied GT durring some "spirited" driving. we stayed within 4x the legal speed limit though
