Pretty strange hearing about an 8 speed. Wonder what the gearing is like.

I always wondered when Lexus would get in on this luxury sports sedan thing.

 

holy **** 8 speed tranny? damn, i know thats suppose to help fuel economy or something, but wow. just wait in the next couple of years i can see it comming. *INTRODUCING* the all new mercedes benz E class with a real peterbuilt 18 speed transmission, for those who really enjoy shifting. haha but as far as 13.9 in the quarter im a bit skeptical over, i seriously doubt a 4300lb car can do that even with 380hp. maybe 14.9. but w/e luxery isnt my shtick.

 

Also, one of the commercial states that it can parralel park it self (thats scarry)

that thing is pretty well-priced compared to the german cars. base model bmws are in the 40 and 50k range. thats insane.

 

That is way possible. The Trailblazer SS does right around those numbers and is a bit heavier than the Lexus LS, although it does have about 20 HP more.

Yeah that commercial is insane. I just looked my wife straight in the eyes and said "start saving for the downpayment."

 

If you go to the website it has it parking itself. It said it will also back into spots and parralel park .

the LS being their flagship sedan model, those cars are pretty amazing. IMO, they made the LS look much more muscular with the V8.

they've had V8s since day one. just a much weaker V8

 

Imagine theres going to be a car parallel parking itself, theres people that can't even park normal in a parking space.
