Toyota Tundra truck better because the TV shows it?

Yes,the 6.2 v-8 is the standard motor in the new body 07' 2500HD.There now is no 6.0 availible in the new body 2500HD's.Trust me,I sell these,and have a few on my lot,and have drove them.The 6 speed automatic works well with it too.

Unless something changed VERY recently, the 6.2L only comes in the Sierra Denali, Yukon Denali and Caddy Escalade right now.
The 6.0L is still the standard engine in the 2500HD and the Duramax 6.6L is an option.

Yup, the 6.2L is only in the denali's not the standard truck. So all of you saying toyota needs to compare it to the 6.2L are wrong. They are comparing the trucks right.
I just bought a new truck. I was in the market and the tundra and gmc were my options. The tundra hands down was nicer than the sierra classic. The new sierra was out of the question with a price tag of 47k for a four door 6.0l, not even a diesel!! The new sierra does have an awesome interior, but they are proud of that truck. The tundra was flat out a nice truck and drove excellent. One of the best things was its turning radius. It was solid and nice, all you heard when you floored it was engine! The engine bay is awesome, you pop the hood and its just engine. A lot of room to work on or mod
But ford threw my $4500 cash back and 0% for a powerstroke, got it out the door cheaper than either of the above. and not looking back! Ford diesels always been in my family and they are a great truck. I get a grin everytime I hear that turbo spoolin up

I have been a little miffed by these ads from the beginning. Its nice to see articles being released revealing what is fact and what is certainly fiction. A lot of people don't know that the GM trucks offer more towing/payload than a lot of Toyota's configurations. Its only in a certain configuration that their truck can tow 10,800lbs. So unless you want your tundra to be specifically configured, your already behind the competition. Also, toyota doesn't mention how much their trucks cost versus comparable models from GM. Some of their base trucks cost literally $4000+ more. And that translates all the way up to their "limited" model. It carries an MSRP of nearly $40k. Loaded up its well over that.
Also, GM is replacing all A4s with the newer 6 speeds later this year as standard equipment. I personally think they need to retool the 6.0L for a little more HP (considering an LS2 makes 405) and rework the 6.2 for something around 425+hp. That way, A comparably equipped Silverado/Sierra would come with 405hp, more torque, 6speed, better warranty, better gas mileage, and a cheaper price.
If you notice, toyota also shows their truck in face to face tests for towing and payload. But they fail to mention that the test is only showing a specific amount of payload (about 1200lbs). It seems they chose a towing/payload in which their truck would perform best instead of setting up a comparison between the trucks with a FULL load. That is where the test will seperate the leader from the others. If the tundra cant comfortably tow over 10000lbs compared to an F-150 or silverado, then they don't deserve to call themselves "head and shoulders above the competition".

by falsifying information and "leaving out" important facts, toyota is easily able to convince people that their truck is far superior. the new tundra was aimed at the previous silverado (not the new one which is miles ahead) and the current ram (which is slated to be overhauled within the next few years) so really, toyota is already behind the game. i have a 2005 hemi ram and its a great truck. best looking on the road in my opinion.
with toyota being #1 in world sales, theyre gonna start catching all hell for the fact that they lie in their advertising, manufacturing their efficient cars like the prius actually do more damage to the environment than normal cars, and the fact that their cars really are not that great in reliability over the american competition.
and comparing their 5.7 (top of the line engine) to the 5.3 (mainstream middle of the pack engine) isnt really all that fair.

Toyota also forgets to mention that all of the Domestic Trucks put out their power at much lower RPM's because lets get something straight here these are trucks meant for towing not passenger cars low end is one of the most important things. Plus they never mention Ford's 6.8 V10, GM's 6.2 or any of the diesels offered by all the American trucks, engines that have more torque than Toyota could ever dream of having.
