That's true. Even with the current (and still standard for 2008) 2.56 gears the car still moves it out (I've cut quite a few 1.8 sixty foots bone stock) quite nicely. The first gear in the 6L80 trans is 4.02 and the rest of the gearing is cleverly spaced as well.
