Official from the LA Auto show today:

"From Edmunds.

LOS ANGELES — Nissan announced today that its 2009 Nissan GT-R will be priced at $69,850 for the base model, and $71,900 for the Premium trim. Both prices include delivery charges.

Nissan intends to build just 1,500 GT-Rs per year for the US during this model's lifecycle, and will announce dealer allocation plans later this week.

Pre-orders begin January 1, 2008, and the 2009 GT-R will officially go on sale in June.

What this means to you: If you haven't already made friends with your local Nissan dealer, better get on the stick. — Kelly Toepke, News Editor

NOTE: Premium model adds standard Bose® audio system, heated seats and side air bags."

Maybe (I won't take it as "etched in stone" until one can walk into your local Datsun dealer and drive one away for that price). But I will bet that your "R Spec" deal will be substantially more than that!

Well the OFFICIAL MSRP is $69,850, at least that much is "etched in stone". Whether people will be paying that or not is unknown yet....I remember people paying $100k+ for the C6 Z06 upon release...

And its V Spec not "R Spec".....and nothing is official about this model. People are speculating that a V Spec model will be available next year some time offering something around 530HP with less weight and a tighter suspension...I would expect this model to be closer to $85,000...but everything about that model is speculation thus far...

Well carbon fiber/kevlar, and exotic alloys are NOT cheap. So I would "speculate" that the price will be closer to $100K, if not well over. Unless your Nissan expects this to be a major "loss leader" like the MKIV TTs were for their compadres TOY.

So less power and more weight for less money? Well at least the lb/$ ratio is better.

I don't know about you guys, but I've never been a fan of how sterile Skyline interiors are. They have no flash or pizazz. Even that screen in the middle looks like nothing more than a tacked-on navigation system. But, then again, I'm a Fairlady fan before I'm a Skyline fan....

Whatever happened to the new supra that was going to come out with a V8?? I am pretty impressed with Toyota and its 5.7 in the Tundra...

But I would much rather have a c6 z06 than a new skyline....

Biggest thing I hate about the skyline is the lack of a 6 speed.

Why does the speedometer go up to 220? The car tops out at 189 IIRC.

What performance cars speedo only goes to its top speed???? FYI its 191MPH top speed. Not to mention if Nissan releases the rumored "V Spec" model next year it will likely see a an even higher top speed closer to 200+MPH.

I read the Motor Trend article and the 149mph is just a typo. I had the same numbers but with a 119pmh trap in my road and track.

The problem I see with this car(great car by the way) is the numbers; 3800pounds+480hp cant beat a Z06 and the cover states corvette killer??? Fact:
Z06; 3100pounds+505hp and it takes a viper with 600hp and 3500lbs to beat it by a hair!

It really says that the car should be 3750pounds. I'm sure the lighter and more powerful (530hp)version will not even beat the Z06.

And I'm pretty sure the porsche turbo will beat this car because the porsche is lighter with same hp.

I dont want to take this car down!!! I just want to say the numbers dont add up! so the GT-R owner's wont be disapointed too much.

Lets wait for a matchup with the big boys;Z06, Viper and 911.

And the top speed with this weight and hp....not very sure.
