Default Nissan gt-r official

Ok, I meant to post this two days ago when I got my motortrend magazine.

Motortrend quote
"AS FAST AS A 911 TURBO, PRICE LIKE A Z06 CORVETTE-KILLER AND UNDER $80K. NISSAN'S 192MPH GT-R REWRITES THE SUPERCAR RULEBOOK"

I left out the times because I post them below!

Now, I'm usually eager to post infomation, but honestly, I was extremely mad about the horse **** that Mizuno posted about the car to motortrend.

Now Mizuno is Kazutoshi Muzuno who is the former head of Nissan's Daytona and Le Mans racing program according to the article.

Anyway, I've been racing as a hobby for awhile and know what to expect. The car is 3800 pounds and is a 3.8L twin turbo DOHC putting at 480hp and 443ftp torque. Now there's an expected lighter version with 530hp.

However, the bullshit I'm referring too is that this car is awd, and the numbers Mizuno is saying is that the car in 110 degree weather did a 3.5 0-60and did a 11.7 (here's the bs part) with a trap speed of 149.1mph. Now maybe this is a mis-print and maybe it should read 119.1mph I would of believed it. Cause even 129.1mph doesn't add up to a 3800 pound car with less power and more weight than a c6z06.

Now I'm telling you, that no 480hp awd 3800 pound car is going to trap 149mph.

Now what numbers he's reporting isn't exactly clear according to the article.

This is courtesy of Motortrend magazine December 2007 vol 59 no 12.

Now don't get me wrong, I love the supercars from any and I certain respect the numbers that nissan and toyota produce, but I'm sick of the horse-**** about Nissan being this wonderful world sports car.

Do they brain wash these people or they trying to brain wash us?

Someone obviously made a typo, but do we really know who?

I expect them to make a correction.

11.7 in a 3800+ car with driver would take a lot more than 480 HP. There was probably a bottle in the back or the Japnese put an LS7 in it.

I read that article. While those numbers seem way off, Nissan did (legitimately?) beat the Z06's lap time at the Nurburgring. Some sources say they were using track tires, not street tires though.

With the AWD, can believe the 3.7 0-60 time, but not the 1/4 mile time. But all they have to do is tout it now, and the sales will be up when the car come out. More people to be disappointed when they buy a slower-than-advertised car.

The thing looks like a Toyota Celica IMO, and I'm not that impressed.

The problem with the typo is that its out and more people will know of the first published number and less about the corrected #. Although I give credit to the car I think this whole situation is silly. You souped up a g35/350z looking thing and slap a huge price tag on it. With the purchase price of an ls1 and all the money left over to mod then it would be no contest against this factory hyped mass. How many twin turbo 300zxs prowling the streets these days? They all blew up and thats what will happen to these cars. Give it time people. BOOOOST=BOOOM!

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!! Just think of all the hordes of worshipping import fanboi ricetards that will read that number and run with it, as if it is fact. We will NEVER hear the end of this being quoted by the fart-piped, upside-down, backwards visor wearing crew!!

Well, that just go hand in hand with all the other hype and speculation this car received. I want to see it against a 911 Turbo, Z06, Viper, etc... Same track, same day, stock everything.
