Im not trying to knock the GTR at all, just separating fact from fiction.
7:38 was the fastest confirmed time for that test mule GTR, end of story.
Oops, your right, my bad. Thought the article was cool though. That 7:35 was new to me. I'd really like to see a competant driver take the damn Z06 around the ring. I too don't think that 7:42 is in any way a indicative mark as to what she is capable of doing. Then again I don't know who drove it and for what conditions.

Jan Magnussen(professional driver) drove it around the ring, seemed to be pushing it really hard too, but only did 4 laps total, 2 of which he was going for time.

It awaits to be seen what a real production car would run with the revised for 08 steering and revised for 07 rear shocks.

Found this cool discussion/write-up describing the car's gearing vs the Z06 and the 997.
(germeezy: my bad on the 997 thinking it was different than the 911. Just looked it up and it's the same thing )

I love competition this is really shaping up to be a cliff hanger! It just means the next car has to have 550-600 RWHP even before any spray is added in!

In my area the Tundra is like the new Hemi Ram you get these idiots that think because they got a Hemi or an I force V8 that all of a sudden they can run Vettes for pinks. I absolutely anally plunged a RCSB Tundra with the I Force V8....it was brutal!
