Well, its about time that Ford got its act back together with the 2011 model. They didnt have to improve the Mustang at all for YEARS but now they have to and its going to be interesting.
Anyways, how wonder how mod friendly the Coyote will be.

I got to be honest, I'm a little excited to see how this car performs.

Haven't read all of the pages, so if this has been commented on, then please excuse. Hopefully, Ford will take a page from the Roush version Mustang (as relates to the Roush modified suspension) & add a proper handling suspension to the 2011 version. If so, then the 412HP 5.0 will be a fun car for sure.

[Pieces of shitr well the 281 3 v is a bolt on capable car 3700 lbs with driver capable of 12 sec times with out lifting the vave cover. What do yo think a 400 hp even at the crank would do in the 1/4? We all know the Camaro needs 350 to the wheels to run 13.0s.QUOTE=texas94z;12665523]No, NA 4.6s are pieces of ****. This is the best NA Ford V8 since the 351.[/QUOTE]

I am going to guess 425. My guess is Ford will want to keep the Mustang numbers greater than or equal to the Camaro. To the average non car guy, they will see that the Camaro makes 426hp (at least the M6), and IF the Mustang is only rated at 400hp, they will assume the Camaro will walk all over the Mustang. They won't take weight into account.
The Camaro making more HP than the Mustang has not really deterred people from buying the Mustang before, but it looks like the Mustang is wanting to compete performance wise now.
Thats just my opinion though.

You can? Only if the Z28 has a lot more miles on it than the GT. When I went looking for cars, I actually wanted a WS6. I wanted a 02-04 Car with LOW miles, and well taken care of. The cheapeast I could find the TransAms in was 17k or more. And that was with 12k miles. I found a 02 GT with 8k miles for 10k... Soo..

Hmm Wonder why they kept getting awards for it then..

Yeah they decided to scrap the turbo. The new Genesis I hear is a dud.
I'm just excited that Ford now has contenders for both the V6 and V8 Camaro without having to go Cobra.
I am going to eventually sell my 2v GT and get a new 5.0 once they iron out the bugs. Those cars are bad-assed. More power, and takes less gas.

All the info is out now. Damn good stuff. I am now very excited to see pricing and take one for a test drive.
Beginning at the block, the all aluminum unit is designed for light weight and high-power durability. The forged steel crank is factory counterbalanced and clamped to the block with cross-bolted four bolt mains... The connecting rods are a forged powder metal design with floating pins retaining hypereutectic pistons, each with their own oil squirters to keep things lubed and cool. Those are important as this engine is a high-compression design and employs active knock supression...
Maximum torque comes in at 4,000 RPM but the entire curve is nice and flat. This new engine pushes the redline for the Mustang V8 up to 7,000 RPM, with maximum horsepower arriving at 6500
Though it's still a port-injection engine, it's projected to make 17 MPG city and 25 MPG highway, oil changes have been pushed up to an impressive 10,000 miles between changes using 5W20

5W-20? Wow, it will be interesting to see UOA's (used oil analysis) from an engine so tightly toleranced to be using 5W-20. Am not suggesting that results will be poor or even great, for that matter. Will just be intersting to find out.

As everyone else has said (for the most part) this car should be pretty impressive in stock form.
I have been thinking about how this car is going to perform to mods. I think it will be comparable to an S2000. Max effort from the factory, without much benifit from mods.
