Default Ordered my replacment clutch today.

Ordered the SPEC 3+ and single mass aluminum flywheel today.
My question is....anyone know if a stock slave cylinder will work. I've heard about replacing it with a Z06 slave, but what's the difference(I know it requires a spacer, but I'm not sure where to buy one, or how much). Also I want to buy the remote bleeder valve, and lost the website. How about a better hose/line for the fluid? Heard about using DOT 3+, supposedly not silicone, but has a higher boiling point.
Is there anything else that I will need that you may know of? This is already getting expensive.

Here is the bleeder you will need. Same one I use.

It sounds like if that flywheel is for a V you may not have to buy a different slave. I would wait until you get it and measure the flywheel/pressure plate bolted together. I can tell you if you need a spacer based on the measurement. Tomorrow I can tell you what your measurement should be around. The only reason tomorrow is because I already took my clutch back my shop. I had to clean it up a little before it goes back in.

As soon as I get home I'll get the measurement for you. I dont know much about he flywheel you purchased but if its V specific, you may not need the slave. Only a measurement can verify. I believe someone other than UUC was making a flywheel the same thickness of the stock flywheel but out of aluminum. Basically the same concept that UUC has only a different friction surface to pressure plate setup (to utilize their pressure plate because the stock V uses a recessed friction surface on the flywheel like the LS7 Does)

Sounds great. I'm sure I'll understand better once I see a dual mass set up disassembled in person. Thanks

A dual mass works just like a standard clutch but the flywheel is twice as thick and 3 times as heavy as it needs to be.

The measurement of your stock flywheel and pressure plate bolted together should be very close to 4.594" give or take a few thousandths. You should be pretty close to this number. Your new flywheel and pressure plate when bolted together may or may not be the same distance. If its very close to that number, you dont need a slave. If its shorter, you need to take the difference and add that to how long your slave is and that will be the length of the slave you need.

For example. My stock flywheel pressure plate measured 4.594". The new flywheel pressure plate is shorter and measured 3.644". The difference between these two is .950". That is how much longer my slave needed to be. You can achieve this buy buying a slave with the proper length piston, or you simply have a spacer machined for the distance you need to fill.

I choose the spacer route because I got a new stock slave for free and the spacer was also made for free by a friend at a machine shop.

Received my clutch kit today from Spec. This is going to get expensive. Need to buy a slave now. It came with a spacer to space out the stock CTS-V slave, but a new CTS-V slave is over $450. Wondering if an 04 or 07 style slave from a Z06 will work with my spacer.
