So how many are in the 170mph club? I broke 170 last night. Nice open stretch of road with not a single car in sight. Shifted into 6th and it pulled to 169 and stopped for about 15 seconds or so and finally clicked off a 170. I was happy with 170 and shut it down. Just curious if there were any others as crazy as I am. I'm going to get some tape for my sony digital 8. Anybody know how to upload from a digital 8 tape? I may have to borrow my brother-in-laws DVD camera. I'll have some evidence before long. I recorded the run with my blackberry storm but the piece of crap locked up and dumped the video.

Not in the V yet, last time i tried i got to 130-135 and the hood was all over the place. Backed it down and fixed it that night. Been good to 135-140. Havent had the room to try it again. The V just feels sooooo smooth at speed.
Now i have in the turbo camaro! She gets there quite a bit faster though. lol. Playing with another turbo camaro with 3-4 other fbodies following... I pegged it about 1/2-3/4 through 5th and ran her most of the way through. I know we got called in. After we got off the freeway, we got a couple blocks down there were 4-5 cop cars scrambling to get onto the freeway. We got lucky.

Nice run, glad the car ran fine, only been up to the top of 4th in mine, as in SoFlo you are limited due to few roads have little or no traffic.
BTW, does the sunroof rattle at tha speed?

I was in 6th for that pull. Redline at 6500. I dont recall what RPM I was at. The top of 5th is 163, grabbed 6th and it pulled to about 169 and got hung up for a second and then rolled over to 170. For those that don't know, the trans ratio is .84 for 5th and .57 for 6th. It takes a lot of power to pull in 6th.
By the way, I'm not stock. Mods are in my sig. 163 is top speed for a stock V.

170 on the street in a previous ride.
152 on the track: notice, slower than on the street.
125 so far in my V. Very stable and pulling hard!

170+ very stable! did it a couple of times. over it now. not worth it anymore but what a rush. oh yeah it was on a closed course and I was a professional for a day.

stock with tune and got 160 in 5th at like 6200rpm never tryed 6th gear.. i got a great spot to do whatever i want but and still get away from cops but has anyone done it in 6th stock?

153 racing a bike.... it was a katana...nothin that crazy....but he was kinda mad when we were neck and neck from 100-130 and then I started pulling at 135....kinda odd considering the aerdynamics

I tried. Speed fell from 163 to 160 and didn't pull until I was headed down grade. Still only made it back to 163 until I ran out of hill. Stock this car will not pull in 6th.

I had a few things done to my car when I raced a 600RR. We went from a 40 roll. Of course he shot around me but I started catching him around 135. At 150 I was on his butt when he decided he was done. I never made it around him but if he would have stayed in it I could have.

I didn't think 6 gear pulls was good for a car. By the time you get there you've been wot for what? close to a minute? Unless my tune was perfect and I had a great cooling system I'd never try it.
