Default Wheel hop 90% gone

I decided to fab up my own bar, using the same mounting points as the kars kit.

Im realy happy with the results.

I used all the same bolt points as the kars 3 kit but i didnt mount to the diff..
Im still debating wether i want to or not...

Im also running all stock bushings for now, ive gotta find some or find some nice rubber that i can make some from .

Im happy with the results, wheel hop is totaly gone on first to second shifts.

Did a nice 5k clutch drop, it went realy sideways and i heard the tires make a hop like chirp sound at the end but didnt fell it realy.

Did a 3.5k practice launch and it was much smoother. I couldnt feel any hop but the tires made 2-3 chirps just before it caught traction. ( not bad thought)

Point is , no more very violent hop.

and here go the pics, very basic setup.
Scd 40 1" steel pipe, and is 1/2 solid steel pipe.

anyone know where i can find some rings/ busshings?

I think that would give me the 100%

Yeah I hate to say it while it is creative and I applaud you for that, but those wont last very long. The tubing is too small and those washers will not hold for long before those welds break.

to small lol?

you must not know much about steel ?

Dont let the looks decive you.. its 1/2 inch harded SOLID steel rod,(not hollow tube

And the main peice is scd 40 steel pipe.

And There isnt much stress on the welds, theres barley any weight on this. Its a very simple setup concept.

Why mess with that stuff when you can eliminate the wheel hop with new Hendrix-Engineering axles? Its proven with many videos.

I agree ..Can you tell us the difference in ride quality?I would think that it would have to degrade the ride.

No degradation in ride quality. If anything it makes the car feel a little tighter in the rear end. The cradle is kind of sloppy, this just helps tie it down.

Well i spent 330$ on BMR kit and wasnt happy.

I couldnt find a kars kit ( which is about 6-700 )

axles are 1,800

Mine costed me a total of $30 .

And I realy dont see enought good reviews about the axles, considering they are almost $2,000..
The reviews that I did find people already had the kars kit PLUS the axles...

With the design of our entire rear end, Im just not sold the idea that axles will totaly fix it..

But maybe if i see more good reviews ill dish out the $2000

And no differance in ride quality at all with my bar and the kars i assume is the same.

I just saw a thread that they are going for 1800... that alot IMO

Im not saying your axels are bad, but the only good reviews ive seen are from you and ppl that already have custom bars or the kars 3 kit.

I'd rather buy the kars kit, or make my own and drive around with $1000+ in my pocket..

If i needed axles i guess i'd spend the extra money for yours. Other then that im just not sold on it.....

Looks good nice work. Fabricating up your own parts is the way to go. It is always more rewarding in the end. Do you have any plans so I could fab up my own?

No just looked at pics of the kars kit.

And the theres already holes with 3/8 thread in the body were the 2 hole brackets go. I just found some 1 inch long 3/8 bolts and that was it.

I put all the brackets/washers under the nuts and tightend them up . tacked up my pieces on the car.
then pulled it off and welded it on a vise.

total materal i spent about 20 bucks ( i barrowed some stuff like pipe and 1/2 solid steel rod from work )

i still want to find a nice 1/4 inch thick piece of rubber so i can make a bushings for the rear of the cradle.
anyone have any ideas?

Do not use the BMR craddle bushings. They are way to hard and have no give at all .. You will get a thump sound in between shifts..

As for pics of the kars kit, just yahoo or google image search the words cts-v kars
