Good point. I had the same problem..the dealership I go to is a little over an hour away from me because I REFUSE to go to Kendrick Cadillac/Nissan who are local. Every shop you go to says to stay the hell away from them! So I had to wait almost 2 weeks to get mine reprogrammed. On the street though I really never have a use for competitive driving mode...just TC off and away I go!

The Nav unit does not command the traction control, the PCM and the other sensors do. By replacing the Nav unit you don't loose anything other than the ability to display modes.

Based on how I have driven my car, I would say yes. Comp mode gets you some leash in the stability control but not completely off. I can tell a difference.

It still works...tap once, wait a second and tap again. Take it to your dealer and take a copy of the service bulletin if needed. My service manager had no clue.
