had mine now since about mid Feb. At first it was strange and i felt that I was doing something wrong. After a while behind the wheel it's smooth as hell... I absolutely love my V, even with 70K on the clock still feels like straight off the factory floor

i drove my ls1/m6 T/A to test drive a cts v 200 miles away once... as soon as i pulled out in the road i almost spun the car around cause the clutch was soo much easier than my trans am, and the salesman was not inpressed with my m6 shifting ability... these are not easy cars to just hop in and go for a smooth cruise.... they take a couple hundred miles to truely become fluent in...
p.s. the stock shifters blow dick... my b&m with uuc bushings help ALOT... so did tires and these solid motors mounts for sure... now its starting to feel firm like the trans am i had..

I think if it were smooth I wouldn't like it as much. On the outside it's a sleek looking luxury sedan, on the inside it's more muscle car. Clunking and banging, idling like a big cam, and once you open the exhaust up it's pure sex from the LSx. With 4 doors, 3900 lbs, and wheel hop it's still a blast to drive everyday.
And to be honest I liked the car when I first drove it, but after changing the shifter and adding magnaflow I can't get enough of it. And learn to use the T/C modes.

I loved the 1st gen V when I first drove it. I just hated the shifter.
I recently drove the new G8 GXP manual, and it was AWESOME. ZERO complaints.
Go buy the G8. It has a proven rear that isn't made of glass like the 1st Gen V.

Or you can get a CTS-V with DSS axles and cure the wheel hop issue. This should save your rear from breaking easily. Don't get me wrong, I love the GXP but i 'd rather spend $20k than $40k.

Skip the GXP, its cooler as a Holden anyhow, and pimp the ultimate sleeper caddy! The look on peoples faces once you show them what "their grandmas" caddy can do is worth the price of admission alone
The quirks, even the parade clunk, are part of what make this car so unique...damn, I think I need to go for a drive now!

^^^Dude has a point, not too many people go bragging on Pontiac. Now a Caddy that makes the ground rumble, while chirping through the first three gears is definitely an eye-catcher.
