Default Installed x-pipe, stock mufflers

Had a Magnaflow x-pipe put in today but haven't picked out what mufflers I want yet so I decided to see how it would sound with the stock ones. In the car and at idle there is zero difference, but it sounds good when I get on it outside the car. I'll catch a quick video sometime this week

I'll probably be going with bulletts. I know they are loud, but will be one of the first setups I've had that isn't dumped, so it probably won't be too bad inside the car.

I definitely thought it would be louder. Can anyone recommend a length for bullets?

I think a 12" bullet is all that will work the way the exhaust pipe bends from the diff.

if loud is what you want...go to youtube and listen to that black v w/ flowmasters.

Unfortunetely...and somebody may correct me, but the mufflers don't seem to have as much to do w/ the volume as the front half of the exhaust on these cars. I've heard them w/o any muffler at all but unless there's long tube headers up there...just doesn't get nasty loud on these cars.

Thats not necessairly a bad thing. I considered flowmaster too and had them on my last fbody and true dual 50 series on my 6.0 truck. I love the sound/tone of flowmaster, but I'd like something a little more raw and free flowing like a loudmouth setup. If I don't like it, I can always switch back to a conservative blowmaster or something.

Hmm. im not good at describing sound and volume, but i think a lot of caddy owners would think its too loud. at 2K rpm in 6th, its got a little "resonation", but not enough to bother me. I listen to my music without the exhaust sound causing problems.

its definately going to be louder than Jerry's, being that they are 8" shorter.

they have another race bullet that is the same length as mine but are an oval shape that are said to be slightly quieter because they have a little more packing material in them....PN 14148

i do like flowmasters on certain cars. ive got the single chamber race muffler on my LT1 camaro and it has a sweet old school musclecar sound. but i would never want my V to sound like this....sorry.

I think that sounds totally bada$$...but I'll leave that sound to my firebird or trash truck...just can't commit the V to that. The wife and clients would hate me! With the magnaflow its bold when you gag it and near silent at cruise.

to me, they actually sound like spintech mufflers. i just dont like the high pitch tone. i wouldnt be surprised to look under the car and see pepsi written on the mufflers.

the deeper tone of the magnaflow style mufflers sounds much better in my opinion on the LS cars. the LS motors dont have a deep tone to begin with.

just my opinion. im not saying that i think that everyone should do what ive done, cause thats what makes us different. i just really love the way my caddy sounds...

oh, yeah....just remember that car has LT headers, no cats, xpipe and the flows. ive got stock manifolds, cats and then the xpipe and magnaflows. i cant imagine how loud my car would be if i got some LTs and no cats...
