Source for new CTS-V Recaro seats?
So i've been reading and reading and reading, learning more about the V's for my eventual purchase of an 04/05 upon my return to the states from Saudi Arabia. I got to looking at pictures of the new V's today, and the Recaro seats that you can get as an option REALLY caught my eye...
I did some research around on various parts and Caddy sites and can't really find any info. Does anyone have a source for these, or even know a part number? How about a price? I'm sure it'll be an arm and a leg, considering you're paying the Recaro + Caddy name tax. Will they bolt right in to a V1? Just trying to find out if anyone's looked in to these things yet.

Those would look nice in my camaro!! When you order the car, I believe it is a 3400 dollar option. I searched parts taxi and could not find a full seat, only smaller parts. Check one of the Cadi forums and you should find a new price and a used price.

A lot of people feel 4 point belts are inherently unsafe. Many track day organizations are refusing to let them on track. Besides, where would you mount the 2 shoulder belts? Can't belt them to the floor unless you really have a death wish...

I was thinking more along the lines of a harness bar. Isn't too difficult to fab up one. Also, couldn't they be mounted under the rear seat?
I would assume that those looking for the recaros from the new CTS-V to put in their 1st Gen V, isn't doing so for safety reasons first. Many cheaper alternative and safer seats can be had for 3400 bucks. I would tend to think these used in a Gen 1 V would be for looks 1st, safety 2nd.

Weird this thread popped up now, i had a 2010 V6 Camaro as a rental while in florida the past few days and even the cheap recaro knock offs were awesome compared to the stock V1 seats. But the hell if im spending 3k for seats plus getting a harness put in a daily driver.

i think they had a great plan for a chassis, took a motor they had in a parts bin and ran out of money with the rest. the seats scream anything but performance, same with the shifter, steering wheel, rear end.
or maybe they built a really sick car and the bean counters forced them to replace alot of it with off the shelf stuff which gave us the car we have now.

Also Why my friends evo was totaled when they stole his seats. Shop quoted him 12,000 to get them replaced. Since the back bottom rails etc are all separate parts and must be shipped from Japan... They cost TOO much

last time I heard you can't buy these seats. They are made of pieces, and part of the reason so expensive is they also are "air cooled" (4 fans in each one) Good luck on finding them, as any V2 that is totalled another V2 owner normally buys them and swaps them into his car.
oh yeah, and 3400 for recaro's isn't that bad when you think about going and buying a fully electronic recaro.....
