Anyone lowered running stock sway links??
I remember people with the ground force kit having to run vette sway links or they kept breaking the stockers....is this the case with h&r/eibach springs...also if anyone has driven both which one is a smoother ride, H&R/eibach....really wanna pull the trigger on this soon, thanks.
Oh and can the install be done on the ground just using a floor jack to compress the spring, or do you need the 'proper' tool....I've never done suspension work with a car that had struts.

I have Eibach and have stock end links. Although with all the talk lately about Z06 end links i've been thinking of swapping out.
I've been lowered on Eibach for over 2 years and no problems.

im installing h&r's as soon as the get here, i plan on doing the ndlinks for the money i say why not. didnt realize so many people run stock ones. I read the main reason they replace them is the stock ones are too long.
and BTW ...........DO NOT compress a spring with just a jack. rent a tool from autozone for free with a deposit much safer and doesnt cost anything but gas to drive there.

It's pretty easy with a jack(again never worked on struts), but if they rent it for free why not.....I'm curious though...you guys lowered running stock links...are you on stock bars too?? I've got the hotchkiss bars...dunno, for 50$ I may do it....still don't understand how them being a little longer can make them break, the bar just rotates up...I'll have to take a look at it.

When I installed my H&R's, I didn't even need spring compressors. For disassembly or re-assembly....
I ordered the Z06 endlinks, but I guess I wasn't smart enough to tell Mr. Luke that I'd need the nuts to go on those endlinks. He sent me the endlinks, and thats it. The OEM ones aren't the right size. I've logged about 6,000 miles on my car since the springs were installed with no problems from the OEM links. I'm taking the parts to my local dealer tomorrow to get the nuts that are needed, since the people that sold me the endlinks didn't bother to ask "you need some nuts with that". Sorry, it gives me heartburn when I think about it.

Can you explain a little more?? Did you just take the strut out of the car and loosening the nut the spring wasn't still under pressure?? I'm sure re-assembly will be easy since they're smaller springs...it's mostly disassembly that I'm worried about.

As for the end links, they snap IF you lower the car AND have stiffer sway bars, such as the Hotchkis bars. Even then, they may not snap if you don't drive aggressively enough...
