Default V Headers

I wanted to put together a thread all about headers for the V1, and get all the data down in one place. So here are a few questions for you gurus.

Who all makes headers for our cars?
Kooks
B&B i.e. Billy Boat
Stainless Works
TPiS
Katech
any others?

Who, if any, currently sells each brand for the best price?

Any FIRST-HAND BAD experiences with each brand?

Most brands only offer 1-3/4" primary tubes however, Kooks also offers 1-7/8". What mods would warrant the larger tubes? Any reason not to go with the larger ones.

Katech can only be aquired second hand now. They stopped producing these in 07 once the V1 went out of production. Thats all I know, I'm still on the stockers

1-7/8 are more efficient when you add a Maggie or a nice H/C package.. N/A w/ stock heads...1-3/4 are sufficient..

I have the Kooks 1-7/8 on my maggied 05. Fit is great, My only complaint is they don't come with a catted 3" in and 3"out. You have to run no cats or use their mid pipe which is 3" in and 2.5" out or go with a custom mid pipe.
I don't know at what point dual 2.5" exhaust becomes a restriction, but I wanted to do it right the first time and fab a dual 3" exhaust when I had the car on the lift for the header install.

Add Pacesetter to the list. Their headers will probably sell for about 500 bucks coated. Don't quote me on that though. Havent heard the final word yet

$500 headers... I am so in if that comes through!!

Of course I still need to get the car first... but for $500 I would do headers right away.

what materials are the pacesetters typically made of?

... nevermind. found it - mild steal. wouldn't be a problem until I lower the V. a few scrapes and away she rusts

My wife's v is running the full b&b setup. The headers fit great and tuck up nicely. I have also installed a set of the new tpis headers on a friends v which are made by american racing. I love american racings headers, but I wasnt impressed with the fit on the v. The passenger side header hangs down about 1.5" lower than the driverside does. I dont think these are the ticket for a lowered car.
