just like the title says, just about every time (more so when it's cold) when i engage the clutch to go in to reverse or first, i here this weird sound coming out from under the hood. is my clutch assembly going? low on fluid? master cylinder? ![Icon Confused](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/icon_confused.gif)
i hope it's nothing too bad. i mean, i can live with it for the most part, but don't want to be left stranded one day because of something stupid.
thoughts?

But in all seriousness, have your shop take a look at it. They may be able to diagnose the issue.

it's not an animal guys, lol. i was simply using that as an example. i keep hearing it every time i engage the clutch and put it in first or reverse, but it's weird to explain. it's a weird sound that comes around everytime i put my foot in the clutch while idle. then when putting the gear in 1st or reverse it continues to happen up until the point i release the clutch, like let it keep reversing, or going forward in 1st.

years ago when i had that problem a friend of the family charged me $50 for labor and the part was $18. this was on a mazda pickup. don't know what it would cost on a V. call a transmission shop and ask.

the pilot bearing is what holds the input shaft from the trans to the back of the crank on the motor. Keeping them aligned at all times. While it might be a cheap part, the trans still has to come out to do it. So if you were planning on doing a clutch or anything that required a tranny pull, do it at the same time.

Are you still on the stock clutch ?
I remeber my car made a animal like screatching sound awhile back when it was wicked cold out and I was just moving the car from the driveway to the garage.. (its also a slight incline)
I didnt think much of it since it hasnt happend since.
