Default problems with my clutch

I have a 2004 cts-v and the clutch peddle just goes to the floor at times. I just got home from afghanistan and only drove the car maybe 3 times so i dont know how long this has been going on. my dad drove the car while i was gone but said it never did anything like that to him. im guess i just got air in the lines so is there a way to bleed the lines or does it just do itself? please let me know what you guys think im wanting to take a road trip friday so im stressing out about this.

Not trying to scare you but I had this happen on two occasions and on both, the slave was on its way out the door. Within a month of the random sticking it was dead.

I had some issues with my spec kit and not wanting to go into gear.

A buddie of mine told me about "gravity bleeding"

And my car shift 95% better. (the other 5% is the fact i think its just the clutch )

heres how to gravity bleed
1.) top off the resivor with some fresh Dot 3 brake fluid (non-synthetic)

2.) get under the car, and squeeze your hand in the next to the trans and get a 8mm socket (1/4 inch was just barly fits. at this point you wish You had a remote bleeder. If you do, then even better.

3.) crack the bleeder screw just enough till you see a slow drip . And I mean a slow drip.

4.) keep an eye on the res and keep adding fluid everytime it gets around the 1/2 way mark.

5.) have something to do while you wait, I let mine drip for about 2-3 hours and just kept adding fluid as needed.

6.) do no touch the clutch pedal at all during the process.

7.)finaly after a few hours, Top of the resivor and then tighten the bleeder.

8.) go for a ride and enjoy.

The theory behind this is the fluid gradualy pushes the air out .

Helped me, try it .

You can try and find a clutch install thread. The trans has to come out.

Mine has done this twice and it was the pressure plate each time. Not the slave. If you're going to replace the slave, might as well do the disc and PP at the same time just to be safe. Get a Motive Power Bleeder and a remote bleeder also. These will make bleeding in the future a ton easier.
