Wow, stageup I forget what your mods are.

What are you making for power ?

And are you launching on the spray ?

I think I should wait till I have the money for a full DDS setup , Dont want that to happen to me.

EDIT : (I noticed you posted diff info in another post ) Seeing the Gen 3 hold up Gives me some hope

Im just curious if the axle broke on 400whp or on 500whp.

Hey guys, I havent been able to take her back to the track since Firebird raceway here in Phoenix is currently being re paved. By the time it opens back up, it will probably be back to 110 degree temps here. So we will see what happens.

I have never ran the car on drag radials. The killer on my axle was wheel hop. If I would have had drag radials on, my axle would probably still be alive from what I can see.

Yes, I have the latest CTS-V differential, and boy can it take a beating!!! I love it!

Thanks for the concern fellas! CTS-Vs RULE!

So you have Gforce axles and the CV broke? Or this is stock setup?
And you just happened to break the CV...

Okay, so I need to clear this up in my head: Gen 1 rear came stock in 2004-05 LS6 models, Gen 2 rear in 2006-07 LS2 models, and Gen 3 rear in 2009+ LSA models? If so, how do you go about getting a gen 3 rear in a V1? If not, please clarify for me.

Gen #3 is the 4th part number of a rear that became available for a replacement for the V1 in 2008.
It has nothing to do with the redesigned 2009+ rears.

Got it. So that differential, in theory, never came factory installed in ANY CTS-V. Hmmm. I wonder if it shares any parts with the V2? I was hoping maybe the people saying that they had Gen 3 diffs meant that GM started using V2 diffs to replace broken Gen 1 and 2 rears. That would be pretty awesome, I haven't heard of any failures with that rear yet and there are 800+ hp 2009-10 Vs running around on DRs. Oh well. Is there any word of breakage with a Gen 3 rear? Will it accept DSS axles designed for the LS6 cars, or are the guys with Gen 2 and 3 diffs out of luck as far as DSS axles go?
