All the service is up to date on this car. Oil changes are $250 but the brakes and plugs recently done. Rear brakes are due in 7000 miles which for me is about a year and I can do my own work.

Yeah but plugs for this car at BMW are $52 each x 10 and another $500 in labor. $1000+ for plugs
Are you planning any mods for your M if so which?

No doubt the V2 is the better performer, as it should be. But for BMW's '05 tech it is impressive. We'll see what BMW's twin turbo V8 looks like pretty soon. Like I said I still would like to have a V2 after this but I got this car for $33k, 70k miles, CPO warrantied till 2012 and 100k miles and the service history was nothing but oil changes on it. Too good to pass up. Plus the used '09 V's are still pulling low $50k's.

And I gotta say you can't go wrong with either car...and your car looks gorgeous. I really like the V styling over the sublime M5 look.

not gonna lie...going V1 to V2 to M5 is kinda weird in my book. but i can understand why you would go M5 for the interior. that has been the downfall of every GM car that goes competes with the European Sport Cars.

enjoy the hell of the M5.

i am sure everyone on the forum will still want to know how the M5 run when you see a V.

I ordered filter replacements and ram scoops. i doubt I'll do much else...I want to preserve my warranty.

When I took it in to get a service they took my key fob, plugged it into a computer and spit out the current status of the car including the CEL I had and the entire service history. I'm not sure I can hide a whole lot from them.

Nice M5.

I was looking hard at an 2003 M5 but cost about $23 plus and hard to find (like the CTS-V).
Both very nice cars.

I'm looking to go the other way in picking up a 2010 CTS-V.

I've got an 06 M5 with a whopping 36000 miles on it. It's Silverstone II with the black Merino leather upgrade. It's currently for sale for $39,500. While it's been a fun car to drive, it's not the awe inspiring car I was hoping it'd be.

They consume oil, so make sure you keep a quart in the trunk. (It's like 12-15 per quart.)

It's fast and turns heads, though.

Good luck with your new ride. If you know anyone else looking for one, send them my way.

Here's mine:

In my opinion....you didn't ask but are going to get it anyway
M5's do nothing for me next to a Gen2 V. Let me check again.....nope, my pants aren't rising.

My boss just turned in his 06 M5 off lease. Very nice car although everyone at work thinks my V1 looks way better. I tend to agree. I love the sound of the M5 though. Prices are coming down for sure and I have been looking at them as well but the repair costs for basic services etc... are through the roof. CPO's cars are where its at with these.

Well I tend to agree. The M5 looks better in person much like the V2, however I almost prefer the V1's to the V2's and then the sublime look of the M5. Regardless they all have their qualities and quirks. For the money I couldn't pass this deal up. Maybe I can sell it soon and make a nice down payment for a V2.

Where did you go to order this, and which brand? I'm looking at all my options need to make the playing field a little bit even before I go play!

I agree, this is what ran me away from the Cadillac the interior, other than the sales person acting like he didn't want to help me WTF? So I just went to the BMW sales person who I've known for a while now (surprise didn't know he was selling BMW's) he fell over himself to get me into my M5.

GM - PLEASE FIX THE ISSUE WITH YOUR LACK LUSTER INTERIORS, AS FOR THE SALES PERSON I GUESS HE DIDN'T NEED THE MONEY.

especially when you are paying 60 Gs for the V2 and 110 Gs for the ZR1. I have seen the interior and that car, and for 6 figures you should get a way better interior.

but then again, if i can spend that kind of money on a car...what other few grand for better seats and chaning the trim a little bit... haha

I completely agree. I had an '07 335i and '08 M3, and both cars were a total blast to drive! However, it's not the car I'd want without a warranty. I LOVE the feel and build quality of the BMW's, but there's nothing in the price range of my '09 V that will touch it for the power it makes. I have $1,500 in parts and make 582 RWHP. That's hard to pass up.

Enjoy the M5! You can't go wrong with an M car!
