Are you guys doing the math manually? When you start modding/tuning, it could fudge the accuracy of your computer.
Last trip: mostly highway ~80mph, and a have a bit if a heavy foot.
Miles: 183
Gas: 11.8
MPG: 15.5
*** My DIC said I used 13.5 gallons***

The V1 has a coefficient of 0.31, and I want to say the GTO was 0.32, but could be same.
I've had both, a 2006 Pontiac GTO (6-speed) that I bought new to 67k, logging all my mileage and now a 2007 CTS-V...On the GTO, the best I got was ~27 mpg on a long stretch, going about 75 or so. I've gotten 27.5 mpg in the V, but that was only doing 65-70, so I would think the GTO may get .5-1.0 mpg better at certain speeds. The weight plays a role, as well as the higer gear, but also remember that there is a certain point (rpkm) where the engine (LS2) is at the perfect torque/load/rpm point, so on one car it would be better with the higher rpms...I mean, even the weights are relatively close (within 150 lbs of one another...gas weighs 6-something gallon, so theoretically, could almost have the same weight between the two.
Regardless, these things get great mileage and amazing how far they've come (a lot has to do with 6-speed/rpm but other part is engine management).

I do have to clarify, every bolt on I added to my old TA increased the mpg. Maybe I need to start modding to get to 18+avg.

I'm stock except for whats listed in sig and can average 23-25 on highway trips, although usually highway trips are right around 20 because I dont like sitting at 75 with the cruise. ![Winky](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_wink.gif)
My commute to work is about 12 miles half and half city/highway..and more city driving at lunch and doing crap after work. When I fill up, the computer usually says 14-16 unless I am trying to save gas. I tend to be a little hard on the car, but if I wanted to save gas, I wouldn't have a V. In fact, it is my mission in life to offset the hippies and their hybrids. If I am next to one at a light, I leave it in first a lot or when I pass them on the highway I always drop it down a gear or two. Not all hybrid owners are save-the-earth-global-warming-we-are-running-out-of-oil-i-spent-too-much-on-my-hybrid-that-ill-never-make-up-that-cost-in-extra-mpgs types, but I like sticking it to the ones that are like that.

The gas my wife saves with her Prius I burn up in my V. So its a wash
. I usually get around 18 to19 in town and 21 to 23 on the highway. I drive pretty conservative most of the time.
