I'd assume this is a sealed bearing. It may be possible to use a pick to open up the seal and put some proper grease into the bearing. Something like this.

Well they have my tranny apart. I was told there is a list of things to be replaced. They will let me know Monday if the warranty people will rebuild the tranny or replace it with the GM certified rebuilt trans. Keep you posted.

I still need to grease mine. I noticed it happens more often when it rains as it has been raining here quite a bit lately

What kind of triflow are we talking about here? They have like 10 different kinds and I'm not even sure if I'll be able to find it around here. Are there special properties exclusive to TriFlow or can I just pick up some white lithium spray or something?

Glad I found this thread. First post I know. But mine is doing the same thing usually starts around 40 mph or so and won't stop until the car comes to a complete stop. But it sounds like its coming from the front more. My wife rode in the back seat the other day and said she couldn't hear it.

I'll be trying the spray this week and will see what happens

Thanks for the info.

Of course its happening more when it rains........The bearing is being washed out.

I have a new problem with damn squeaks. Every time it rains my driver side shock starts squeaking like nobody's business. Its really annoying. about to try the Tri Flow on it too. Guess I just need to dip my whole car into a bath of Tri Flow......LOL

yes there is a small protective metal shield under the carrier bearing, but you can get to the bearing without taking it off. Just use one of those straw things for the nozzle on the can and you will be fine.

Sounds like to me this needs to be a sticky thread because this is happening to lots of people. If need be i can type up a more formal thread for this.

Mine hasn't been whining much anymore and I still haven't lubed it. I'll be spraying some tri-flow in there once it starts again though...

Did it sound like this?
